Hiking Sand Canyon Trail in Upper Moonridge
Just a few miles from Cloud on Villa cabin there’s an easy 2.8m out and back trail at the end of Sand Canyon Rd that takes you into 2N27 trail. You can park off of Sand Canyon and then begin the hike in a southeast direction. There is really only one path which is about a car widths. Watch out for mountain bikers and off-road vehicles using the same trails! Here’s the pin for the parking spot / entrance.
Roads are nice and wide but watch out for oncoming and upcoming traffic! About 1 mile in you will see the entrance to 2N27 trail.
Overall there’s tall trees along the trail providing some good shade. You can take a few different loops but we chose to do an out and back. It should take 90 mins to complete and it’s a perfect hike for smaller children and pets.
